Spring Newsletter

Please note – the headline says Spring 2008.  I hope it’s not too presumptuous of me to assume that it really is spring and that winter has finally ended.  But, as knitters, it had to feel good that our loved ones were able to wear those hats, scarves, gloves and sweaters that we so lovingly made for them a little longer than we probably expected.

Spring has all kinds of meanings for us.  My four year old granddaughter announced to me yesterday that she “loves” spring so she can plant flowers.  Well I love spring too.  One reason is that it is time to celebrate our anniversary.  We opened The Yarn Stash on April 25, 2006.  Two years of meeting and getting to know knitters and crocheters in and around our community has been a great treat.

To celebrate the occasion, we are holding a special sale from April 25 through May 4.  Come in and when you are ready to make your purchase, you will be able to take an envelope out of the box and find out how much your entire purchase will be discounted.  It will be anywhere from 10 to 30 percent off your regular purchase.  Please note though that this does not apply to class fees and cannot be paired with any other discounts.

We are very excited about the LYS Tour coming up in May.  We look forward to seeing all of you and don’t forget that even if you don’t plan to visit all 24 shops, each shop will be having a daily drawing that you will want to get in on.  Many of you have asked about our one skein project and what will we be offering this year.  It’s a secret.  Our projects are so secret the CIA hasn’t even been able to find out what the project is.  If any of you who have been asking are CIA Agents, I sincerely hope that your failure to pry this very secret information out of us will not result in a bad review.  May 15th is less than

threeweeks away and then the whole world will know.

What is hot at The Yarn Stash?

Yesterday we received our first shipment Cascade’s 220 Superwash Hand Paints.  We have seven of the ten colors available with the other three still on back order.  I think this yarn is going to take the knitting world by storm.  It is beautiful, it is washable and it is wool.  What more could you want?  Beth has already almost finished a hat out of the Spring Meadow and black 220 Superwash.  This is a must see hat.  It is gorgeous.  By the time you read this newsletter, she will have it done and on display.

If you haven’t been by in awhile, there are some other yarns new to our shop that I’m sure you will want to take a look at, especially if you have kid projects in mind.

Remember - it is never too early to start those holiday gift items!
